Passion Pit is a modern Indie band from Massachusetts that formed in 2007. The name "Passion Pit" comes from the lead singer Michael Angelakos's slang vocabulary in high school, in which it refers to drive-in-theaters because of their private nature and romantic appeal to teenagers. Their first album, Chunk of Change, was originally written as a Valentine's Day gift to the girlfriend of Michael Angelakos (lead singer).
Since its creation, the band has written four albums and has been on several tours across the US and the UK. "Moth's Wings" was originally written for CW's popular TV show, Gossip Girl, which aired in 2009. The song related to the one of the characters experiencing a close friend's death, which is the theme of Moth's Wings. |
